5 + STAR Review
Lord have mercy. This book…I finished it quickly but had to take some time to get my thoughts and feelings together. So let’s see if I can process what I’ve read and how I feel.
Til the Last Lyric is the second book in this amazing duet. Cash and Journey’s story picks right up where we left off. While Journey may be young, she knows what she wants. She wants to help Cash see that he can be his music, but also be more. I loved how she made him want more. My heart broke for Cash. I feel like he misunderstood things from when he was young. I think he thought he was being held back, but the truth was, things were done in order to keep him safe and protect him. Journey, I can’t tell you how much I love this woman. Deep down, she’s angry, and rightfully so, but I love that she takes that strength and uses it for good. She tries to be everything Cash needs, but sometimes that too overwhelming.
This story was about finding out who you are, even when you’re a rockstar. That doesn’t mean you know who you are or how you think your life should be. My heart hurt for the truths that come out in this story. My heart was healed by the love of all the characters in this book. I loved getting lost in Monica’s words. Let’s take a minute to talk about the amazing author that wrote such an amazing book. This book is love, it’s honesty, it’s about learning to live. It’s about learning to move on from the past. It’s about truth. M. Robinson puts all that in this one amazing duet. This amazing author made me cry, which takes a lot when it comes to a story. She made my heart feel light. She made me feel the pain that these characters were feeling. Every second of this book had me feeling something. I love that when a book sucks me in and doesn’t let go. This is a fantastic duet. I can’t want to see what the queen of angst has in store for us next.
